MAIZIANNE is a New York-based abstract & figurative artist painter, originally from Belgium. She first studied art in New York City (Art Students League of NYC). In 2009, she enrolled at the Art League of Houston (Texas) then became a student of the Glassell School of Art. In 2011, she had her first solo exhibition in Houston, TX.
Since then, she has been featured in various exhibitions and focused on independent commission projects including children's book illustrations and CD covers. Inspired by pictures, she paints mainly abstract portraits and figures. She explores abstract backgrounds using texture, acrylics and mixed media.Through her work, she tries mainly to capture a mood, an emotion, often reflecting her own life experiences and memories.
